One thing I have come to realize is the amount of energy motherhood demands. I am still nursing (7 1/2 months strong!) and often I become a human pacifier. I am now realizing the importance of clean eating. I am striving to eat more whole foods and less processed items. I am eating more homemade bread, green smoothies, vitamin rich soups, and sticker free veggies from my local farmers market. Cutting back on coffee came natural for me, and thank goodness my husband decided organic half and half was better than vanilla coffee mate ( filled with stuff I can’t pronounce). I notice that my milk supply was better than ever, and I felt so much better. Getting up in the mornings is also a lot easier! My favorite breakfast is a green smoothie. Here is my favorite recipe:
1 ripe banana
1 cup frozen berries (love costco’s organic antioxidant blend)
a heaping handful of spinach (or a few leaves of kale)
1/3 cup frozen pineapple (or mango or peaches)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon flax seed (or flax meal)
1/4 cup aloe ver gel
and enough coconut water to give it a nice consistency.
I blend it up in my BlendTech™ and guzzle =D
